Are your chains in a tangle?

In a tangle?

Here’s a couple of ways to untangle your jewellery chains!

USING BABY OIL

This tip is easy but can be a little messy!

First apply some baby oil onto your tangled chains using a cotton bud

The baby oil helps the chains turn slippery, which makes the knots easier to undo. Massage the knots until you begin to feel them loosen.

When that is completed ensure you fasten the chains and wash off the baby oil with a mild soap.

WITH A STRAIGHT PIN OR NEEDLE

If you can’t loosen the knot, you can use a straight pin or needle .

Take the pin and insert it into the centre of the knot, gently pull up or sideways to separate the chains to enable you to separate the chains.

Take your time and make sure you don’t pull too hard on any openings as this can break the chain..

Patience is a virtue!

USING BABY POWDER

This is my preferred tip.

Sprinkle a little baby powder over the knot to act as a lubricant.

Gently massage the knot to try to separate the chains and release the tangle.

If this doesn’t succeed try using a pin or needle.

When this is completed ensure you fasten the chains and wash off the baby powder with a mild soap.

Hope this helps!
