I think most of us have done it at some point, picked something up without really thinking about it.
A shell on a beach dog walk.
A tiny acorn amongst the autumn leaf litter.
A smooth striped stone that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.
You don’t pick these things up because they’re valuable, or rare. You pick them up because they feel right. There’s a foragers instinct behind it, a pull to notice the little details, to hold, to keep something small and organic close for a while. Maybe you’ll let it go before the walk is over, place it somewhere suiting, maybe you’ll sit it on your windowsill when you get home or discover it in your pocket when you next put on your jacket.
That instinct sits at the very heart of how my jewellery begins. Tiny talismans that keep us grounded.
The grounding power of small things
We live in a world that moves quickly, loudly, and often without pause. Even the simplest days can feel full — full of noise, screens, conversations, expectations. And yet, when you stop for just a moment and notice something small from nature, everything seems to slow down.
Holding a tiny shell or an acorn grounds you in the present. You feel its texture. Its weight. Its shape. You become aware of where you are, rather than where you’ve been or where you’re heading next.
These small finds remind us that the natural world keeps turning at its own pace, regardless of our lives. Their rhythms, their purpose are simple and beautifully separate from us.
That feeling of grounding is something I return to again and again when creating my handmade silver jewellery.

These objects become personal not because of what they are, but because of when you found them and how they made you feel.
They’re markers of moments. Little anchors to calm, steadiness, or a sense of connection to something older and quieter than ourselves.
Why these moments deserve to last
These natural treasures themselves don't last but I’ve always loved the idea of preserving that feeling.
That’s where silver jewellery comes in.
Creating organic forms in silver allows me to honour those small, grounding moments. The jewellery becomes a reminder, a wearable echo of something once held, noticed, and cherished.
This is where my meaningful jewellery begins.
Working with silver as a natural material
Silver has a simple understated quality that feels perfectly suited to organic forms. It catches light softly. Its weight is reassuring and tangible. It holds the texture of your tiny tactile finds.
When I work in silver, I allow the material to guide the piece. I don’t aim for perfect symmetry or polished uniformity. Nature isn’t perfect, and I don’t believe jewellery needs to be either.
This approach naturally lends itself to organic silver jewellery, pieces that feel shaped rather than manufactured, formed rather than forced. Small variations are part of the process, not flaws to be corrected.
Each mark, curve, and texture becomes part of the story the piece carries.

Handmade, one of a kind, and intentionally so
Because every piece is made by hand, no two are ever the same. Even when working from a similar idea, the outcome shifts slightly each time, influenced by the material, the moment, and the process itself.
This is why my jewellery remains one of a kind, because true handmade silver jewellery can’t help but carry individuality within it.
Much like the small objects we pick up from nature, each piece has its own quiet character. Its own presence. Its own sense of being just as it is.
Jewellery as a grounding talisman
I often think of my jewellery as a kind of talisman. Not in a dramatic or mystical way, but in a very gentle, human one.
A talisman is something you keep close. Something that offers reassurance. Something familiar you reach for without thinking.
Wearing symbolic jewellery like this isn’t about making a statement to the outside world — it’s about how it makes you feel. Comforted. Connected.
When worn close to the skin, these pieces become part of daily life. They move with you. They’re there during ordinary moments as well as meaningful ones.
That is what makes talisman jewellery so powerful.
Why symbolism matters more than trends
Trends come and go quickly. They’re loud for a moment, then gone. Symbolic jewellery, on the other hand, lasts because it’s rooted in feeling rather than fashion.
The symbols in my jewellery speak to growth, protection, grounding, cycles, and connection. They simply resonate.
Dragonfly jewellery
Often associated with change and emotional growth, dragonfly jewellery symbolises adaptability, lightness, and the ability to move through life with quiet resilience, making it a meaningful choice in handmade silver jewellery.
Snowdrop jewellery
Blooming in the depths of winter, snowdrop jewellery represents hope, renewal, and gentle strength, offering a beautifully understated form of meaningful jewellery for times of change.
Hare jewellery
Long linked to folklore and lunar cycles, hare jewellery symbolises intuition and sensitivity, often chosen as symbolic jewellery by those who trust their inner knowing.
Waterlily jewellery
Rising calmly from still waters, waterlily jewellery represents emotional balance and inner peace, making it a timeless motif in nature inspired silver jewellery.
Sage leaf jewellery
Traditionally connected to wisdom and protection, sage leaf jewellery symbolises clarity and grounding, often worn as talisman jewellery for comfort and reassurance.
Meaning is deeply personal, and jewellery should be too.

The joy of wearing something that speaks to you
There’s a kind of jewellery that you wear occasionally, and another kind that becomes part of you. The pieces you reach for day after day without really thinking.
Those are often the most meaningful ones.
For me, meaningful jewellery isn’t about sparkle or perfection. It’s about familiarity. About the way a piece feels when you put it on. About the sense of steadiness it brings.
Creating jewellery that offers that kind of comfort is always my aim.
Carrying the small things with you
Life is made up of small moments. Small pauses. Small things noticed and held for a while.
By turning those feelings into silver, I hope to offer a way of carrying them with you, not hidden away in a pocket or drawer, but worn, remembered, and felt.
Each piece is an invitation to slow down. To notice. To stay connected to the grounding presence of nature, even on the busiest days.
That, for me, is the real magic behind what I create.
