What is Silver Clay?
Silver clay is a remarkable eco-friendly material made from recycled silver. It feels just like clay when you’re shaping and working with it, but when fired, the malleable particles burn off and it transforms into 99.9% solid silver.
This means you can design, mould, and craft your own piece, and at the end of the session, leave with a solid silver pendant, charm, or pair of earrings — a beautiful piece of wearable art you’ve created yourself.
What to Expect in a Workshop
Each workshop is hands-on, friendly, and suitable for complete beginners. No previous jewellery-making experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and love of creativity.
Full day workshops start at 10.30, and end at approx 4.30pm with working refreshment breaks and a pause for lunch which is provided. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.
Half day workshops start at 10:30am , and end at 1.30pm or 2.00pm ending at 5.00pm with working refreshment breaks.
You’ll learn how to:
- Roll, texture, and shape the silver clay
- Dry, refine, and prepare your design for firing
- Fire your piece so it transforms into silver
- Polish and finish your jewellery to bring out its shine
Workshops include all the tools and materials you’ll need. By the end of your session, you’ll take home your own handcrafted fine silver piece, ready to wear and treasure.
