Tidal Pool Glass Pendant

This piece feels like it formed slowly, almost the way a natural pool shapes itself over time.

At its centre sits a pool of fused glass, created for its shifting colour and soft, organic texture. Sue began this design as an experiment, drawn to the way the tones moved beneath the surface, subtle, layered, and never quite the same twice.

Surrounding it, a border of hand-applied silver granulation holds the piece in place. Each tiny bead is carefully positioned and fused, not just as a setting, but as part of the story. There’s something grounding in it, like stones gathered around the edge of water, giving structure, weight, and a quiet sense of balance to the more fluid centre.

The contrast is what makes it. Light playing across glass, held within the steadiness of silver. Texture against smoothness. Movement contained within form.
